FINDING LOVE...

When it comes to love, really, anything goes. There may be a right way and a wrong way to find love, but in reality, people find love all kinds of ways.

The journey to love can be bumpy. Sometimes, I think of it as riding a bucking bronco. To ride a bucking bronco, you have to be in synch with it. If you try to fight against, control or force a bronco, you get thrown. You have to be in synch with yourself, too.

If a shy man is in synch with himself, he he may stop berating himself for not being outgoing, and opt, instead, to appear mysterious.

If an intense woman is in synch with herself, she may stop trying to be reserved, and find a man who can appreciate her passion.

If a depressed, anxious woman is in synch with herself, she may stop presenting to be cheery and at ease, and opt instead to know that she is ill-at ease and register which man helps her feel more comfortable.

We try so hard to get rid of unwanted parts of ourselves sometimes - the bucking broncos that threaten to throw us off course. But often, we can't. When we try to get rid of those parts, in fact, they can come back to haunt us.

Unwanted parts of ourselves may rebel and hold us hostage and we can become trapped in the snares of disappointment, disillusionment and dread..

When we can finally invite all the various parts of ourselves in to our mental house, they can become amenable to influence and modification if necessary, or at least, not interfere with our goals.

Your best ride on the journey to love is the ride that speaks to your worst as well as your best self; it is the path that is in perfect synch with who you are.

By dispensing with the idea that there is a distinct path, correct sequence of steps or ultimate "best" way to find love, you can find your own, best ride on the journey to love...
